Harvest Celebrations at Torfield

The end of the first term saw all the children at Torfield celebrating harvest time and marking the changing seasons. Our families showed incredible generosity by donating a wealth of vital foodstuffs which were then donated to Hastings Foodbank. Children from 2BH visited the foodbank to donate the supplies on behalf of Torfield, a visit which provided them with an opportunity to learn about how a charity uses donations to help and support families in Hastings.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions we weren’t able to hold our usual harvest assembly but this didn’t stop the children celebrating and performing. Every class chose a harvest song or poem and developed their performing arts skills by creating and practising a Harvest themed performances. Each class had their contribution filmed and these were edited into a special video showcasing all Torfield’s talents. While the children weren’t able to see each other’s performances live, watching this video in special class assemblies gave them the chance to see what their friends in other classes had produced.
